Delete your account and data
You can delete your account, clones and chats yourself, in the app or in a browser, without writing to us. Deletion starts at once and cannot be undone.
Delete your account
- Open Clonique in the app or in a browser (button below) and sign in.
- Go to Settings → Account → Delete account.
- Enter your password, and the code from your authenticator app if two-factor sign-in is on, and confirm.
What goes with the account
- email, name, password and two-factor sign-in data
- the subscription: cancelled at once with no further charges; a paid plan, Memorial included, ends
- the chat memory on the server (encrypted passages) for the clones of that account
- devices signed up for notifications, and replies reported from the account
Clones on the device do not depend on the account and stay until you delete them, as below.
Delete clones and chats
Settings → Delete all data deletes every clone, chat and message, with the clone’s photos and voice messages, on the device and the encrypted copy on our server. One clone is deleted on its page → Delete clone. They leave the device at once, and the server as soon as the device is online.
What is kept, and for how long
- Payment invoices (number, amount, plan, date and the email the invoice went to) are kept for 11 years, as Croatian accounting law requires.
- Stripe, which handles payments, keeps payment data for as long as the law requires of it.
- Nightly database backups are kept for at most 7 days, so what is deleted is gone from them at the latest 7 days after deletion.
Can’t sign in?
Write to dpo@clonique.ai from the address the account was opened with, with the subject “Account deletion”. We delete it within one month at the latest, as the GDPR requires, and tell you when it is done.
